BARRIO LOGAN COMMUNITY PLAN UPDATE

The latest Barrio Logan Community Plan was first adopted in 1978. The Barrio Logan Community Plan Update was adopted by City Council in 2013 after a five-year community engagement effort. The 2013 Plan Update was repealed by a citywide referendum in 2014. A recent Agreement between stakeholder groups, including the Barrio Logan Community Planning Group, proposes changes to land uses and zoning in a small area between industrial uses at the Port and the residential areas of the community. Pueblo Planning worked with the City of San Diego to engage business owners and residents of Barrio Logan and understand their feedback on this community plan.

Pueblo Planning conducted a combination of both in-person (outdoor, distanced, and masked due to the COVID-19 pandemic) and over the phone engagement with residents of Barrio Logan to get their feedback on the proposed land use and zoning changes, as agreed upon by stakeholders, and hear what other elements would be important to include in the Plan. The final report and audio curation provided a summary of the common themes heard from the community.
